A How To Create a Gravatar:

Gravatars or Globally Recognized Avatars are simply “icons” or “avatars” that are associated with your registered email address.  The cool thing is when you comment on this site you’ll see your gravatar next to your name. If you don’t have one, you end up with the boring default Gridcycle avatar:

Currently, gravatars are only visible in comments and not in posts. The reason for this is that it affects the overall layout–but that’s another story.

To create your own go to: http://en.gravatar.com/ and follow the directions for setting up your avatar. You can choose any image (photo or otherwise) from your computer or the intarwebs to create an avatar.  Don’t worry if it’s not to proportion, the gravatar site lets you crop your images!  Whatever you download or use it will end up being 80px by 80px so design and download accordingly.

Then, about ten minutes after it’s been uploaded, it will magically appear on this site–assuming you used the proper email address for your GridCycle account. If you need to update your profile on this site go here: http://gridcycle.com/wp-admin/profile.php

Oh and one last thing, the reason it’s called a Globally Recognized Avatar is the avatar you just created for this site will automagically appear on any site supporting the Gravatar plug-in.
